Got My Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit!
Got a in-stock alert from SparkFun and was able to swipe an order for a Nano Super kit. Have been wanting to play around with some computer vision projects as well as GenAI work with the newer small language models on something that isn't Apple Metal or hosted computer so will be a fun project to investigate.
I will be posting some new ideas as I go through some projects with the device but a few notes for anyone looking to pick one up:
Required Items
Make sure to have on hand some items to get started right away. I had to order these when I realized I didn't realize what I had would work.
- USB Keyboard and Mouse - The headless setup is a bit difficult to run. I have Mac's so don't have any way to run a X64 version of Ubuntu to use SDK Manager and the Docker image was a bit difficult to get going to had to result in a monitor connected to get it setup
- Display Port cable - There is no HDMI on the device so you need a Display Port if you want to use this with a monitor
- Decent SD Card - Suggest a Class 10 SD card that is at least 64GB to use this method of setup
- M.2 SSD Drive 500GB - Suggested to have this as they attach to the bottom of the board and provide much better performance than the SD disk.
More to come as I get going with this.
